Nagpur: The Delhi Commission for Women has issued a notice to the Delhi Police demanding arrest of the accused who threatened Virat Kohli’s 10-month-old daughter Vamika on social media. The development takes place after team India’s defeat in the recent India-Pakistan match in Dubai.

The alleged rape threat was made after Kohli’s statement in response to trolls who raised questions at Mohammed Shami’s religion after the match.

Chairperson of the Women Body, Swati Maliwal in a tweet said, “The way Virat Kohli’s 9-month-old daughter was threatened with rape on Twitter is very shameful. This team has made us proud thousands of times, why this silliness in defeat? I have issued notice to Delhi Police, arrest all those who threatened 9 months old girl with rape!”

The tweet and the handle from which the threat was made has been deleted. Delhi Commission for Women has taken a suo-motu cognizance of reports of online threats to Kohli’s 10-month-old daughter.
