Nagpur: Zonal director of Narcotics Control Bureau Sameer Wankhede’s father Dhyandev Kachruji Wankhede on Sunday filed a defamation suit against Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik in the Bombay High Court.

War of words have been continuing between Malik and Wankhede ever since Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was arrested in a drugs-on-crime case. Wankhede’s lawyer Arshad Sheikh claimed that Malik has been calling Wankhede’s family a fraud and questioning their religious beliefs. He added that the Maharashtra minister has been pointing fingers at the NCB officer’s daughter, Yasmin and destroying her practice who is a criminal lawyer.

The suit states that Malik has done “irreparable loss, damage, harm, prejudice to the name, character, reputation and societal image of plaintiff and his family members.”
