CBSE to shift back to single board exam pattern

Spread the love

Nagpur: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday decided to restore the single-exam format from the next academic year for class 10 and 12 board exams.
This means that unlike this year, the board exams of class 10 and 12 will not be split into two parts as per the sources in the Ministry of Education. For the 2021-22 academic year, the CBSE had introduced a bifurcated format with two terms—term one examinations were held in November and December last year and term two are scheduled to start from April 26.
According to several reports, a senior CBSE official said, “The board decided to conduct two term exams for the session 2021-22 in order to avert any unprecedented situation caused by the pandemic. Even as the NEP 2020 favours two-term exams, it has been decided to switch to the previous practice for now and conduct one set of board exams at the end of the academic year. The stakeholders also suggested one exam policy.”
