Heatwave alert issued once again for Vidarbha

Nagpur: No relief for Maharashtra as the heatwave is all set to return in Vidarbha districts from Thursday till the end of the week.

The last two days some districts in Vidarbha witnessed light showers accompanied by lighting and gusty winds. However, the maximum temperature remained above 40 degrees despite thunderstorms. Wardha recorded the highest maximum temperature at 44.5 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

The regional meteorological department Nagpur said the heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated places. It further stated that there will be a gradual rise in the maximum temperature by two to three degrees Celsius over Vidarbha in the next four to five days.

On Wednesday, Ahemdnagar in Madhya Maharashtra was the hottest in the state, logging 44 degrees Celsius of maximum temperature. As per several reports quoting IMD, the upcoming heatwave conditions in parts of Maharashtra might not last long and persist for around three days.
