Nagpur: The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday conducted raids at various locations linked to Maharashtra minister Anil Parab.

State’s transport minister is considered to be chief minister Uddhav Thackeray’s confidant. The ED conducted raids as a part of a money laundering probe relating to alleged irregularities in a land deal. Searches were conducted at seven locations across Pune, Mumbai and Dapoli. Searches were also conducted at the minister’s residence.

The action taken by the ED are related to the allegations regarding a land at Dapoli which was reportedly purchased by the Maharashtra minister in 2017 for Rs one crore but was registered in the year 2019. The land was sold to one of the persons who was covered in the searches in 2020 for Rs 1.10 crore as per the tax department.

Earlier in February, Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik was arrested in a money-laundering case linked to 1993 Mumbai blasts mastermind Dawood Ibrahim. Three months on, he is still in prison.
