Ajit Pawar criticises Maharashtra govt for disrupting Assembly over Disha Salian’s death case

Ajit Pawa

Ajit Pawar, the Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, slammed the state government on Thursday for disrupting the Assembly’s proceedings, as well as for repeated adjournments over Disha Salian’s death case, and for diverting attention away from the real issues.

“It’s surprising that ruling parties are making a fuss about non-issues. “They should be ashamed of themselves for doing such nautanki,” Pawar said after the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly adjourned again.

“For the third time today, the ruling party has caused a commotion in the House. The CBI investigated the death of Disha Salian (the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput) and determined that it was a suicide. However, the ruling party has raised this issue again, and we wanted to address other important issues. I’m curious why they don’t trust CBI. This is against democracy, and we condemn the ruling party’s actions as nothing more than a charade,” Pawar said.

Pawar’s statement came after BJP MLA Nitesh Rane and Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) MLA Bharat Gogavale raised the issue of Disha Salian’s death in the Maharashtra Assembly and demanded an investigation. Nitesh Rane demanded a re-investigation into Salian’s death for an alleged role by Aaditya Thackeray.

Rane stated, “The Mumbai police are investigating the case. However, much evidence is suspected of being tampered with during the previous administration’s tenure. As a result, we demand that this case be reopened.” “Let the truth about the case come out, it’s still with Mumbai Police and not yet investigated by CBI. I will ask the chief minister to refer the case to the CBI. Because the final postmortem report has yet to be delivered and pages of the entire book have yet to be discovered, a Narco test on Aaditya Thackeray is required. It’s A for Aaditya and A for Aaftab…” Rane continued.

The controversy erupted after Eknath Shinde faction MP Rahul Shewale raised the issue in Lok Sabha yesterday, alleging that in Sushant Singh’s case, many calls were received in the name of AU, who is this “AU its Aaditya or Uddhav.”Meanwhile, Uddhav faction MLA Bhaskar Jadhav accused the Union and State Home Ministers of delaying the investigation for political reasons. He also mentioned how the State Ex-Intelligence Chief Rashmi Shukla was given a clean cheat in a phone-tapping case involving Maha Vikas Aghadi leaders during the BJP’s rule.

Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, and a few days later, on June 14, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered dead at his Mumbai home.
