Maharashtra: Vidharbha and nearby region is facing heavy and moderate rains in the last 3 to 4 days. On Wednesday Chandrashekhar Bawankule BJP MLC from Nagpur demanded that the government should look after the crop damaged due to the dispensable rains and hailstorm in the region and announce compensation for the farmers.

Bawankule said, “Crops like Tur and Cotton have been damaged in many areas. Fruit plantations including fruit lime and oranges are affected, and estimated over 50,000 acres of crop plantation has been damaged which means a huge financial loss.”

He targeted CM Uddhav Thackeray and the MVA government for not being proactive over the issue. Bawankule said, ”Those in the government are busy doing politics and do not have time for public and real issues. If Thackeray is sensible to the cause of the farmers then he must immediately ask all the guardian ministers to assess the crop damage”.
