Nagpur: Just a day after Punjabi singer and rapper Sidhu Moosewala’s security was withdrawn, the singer was shot dead in Mansa district of Punjab.

Moose wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jawaharke village of Mansa district on Sunday, May 29. The development took place a day after Punjab police withdrew the security of over 420 people including his.

In another development, Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for Moose wala’s murder. Brar in a Facebook post said that he killed Moose wala to avenge the death of gangster Vicky Middukhera.

The Punjabi singer’s father has written to chief minister Bhagwant Mann and demanded a CBI and NIA investigation of his son’s death.

Punjab Director General of Police VK Bhawra Sunday said Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder seemed to be the fallout of an inter-gang rivalry. He added that 30 rounds of bullets were fired at the singer and at least three weapons might have been used in the crime.
