Nagpur: Former union minister DV Sadanada Gowda on Sunday took to twitter and issued a clarification with regard to a video, allegedly of his, circulating on social media and claimed that it was a ‘deep fake.’
“Dear well-wishers, a morphed (deep fake) video of mine has been making rounds on social media.
I would like to inform you that, it is not me in the video, it’s created to malign my impeccable image by my adversaries with vested interest,” Gowda said.
He claimed that his image was morphed into a video that was going viral online and has filed a complaint with the cybercrime police regarding the same.
This tweet of the sacked union minister comes after a video of a person who appears to Gowda with an unknown woman has gone viral on social media.
Gowda claims that it has been done by malefactors who have been upset by his rise in the political front.
He also pleaded with the authorities to act as soon as possible and arrest the guilty parties immediately.
Gowda is a former union minister and also served as chief minister of Karnataka.
A female BJP worker had levelled allegations of sexual harassment against the sacked union minister in 2018.
