Gandhi was supposed to appear before the ED on June 8 in relation to a money laundering case. She has isolated herself, as per party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala. Sonia and Rahul Gandhi were summoned by the ED on Wednesday in relation to the National Herald money laundering case. The Congress chief was asked to join the investigation on June 8, whereas Rahul was called on June 2.

The case was registered against the mother-son duo to probe the alleged financial irregularities in the National Herald newspaper.

Surjewala in a statement said, “Started the National Herald newspaper in 1942..At that time British tried to suppress it, today the Modi government is also doing the same and ED is being sued for it. ED has given notice to our president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.”
