“If you like India, leave Pakistan”: Pakistan’s opposition to Imran Khan

Spread the love

Nagpur: On Saturday, Pakistan’s opposition leader, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, slammed Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying that if he loves India so much, he should leave Pakistan.

The remarks of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam, the daughter of deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, came after Khan referred to India as a “Nation with a great sense of honor.”

On Friday night, ahead of the no-confidence vote, Khan addressed the nation, saying, “No superpower can force India to do anything against its interests.” Despite sanctions, they (India) continue to purchase oil from Russia. Nobody has the authority to impose their will on India. “Could the European Union ambassadors say the same thing to India?” he asked, adding that they couldn’t because India is a sovereign nation.

Maryam responded to Khan’s remarks by saying that he had “gone mad,” adding to this, she said, “If you like India so much then move there and leave the life of Pakistan.”

Meanwhile, the opposition has begun talks to form a new government, and plans are in the works to remove President Alvi and bring deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif back from the UK, according to the Express Tribune newspaper on Friday.
