Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, a subsidiary of the Defense. Ministry, is preparing to display 15 made-in-India helicopters, including an advanced light helicopter that was delivered to Mauritius ahead of schedule.

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the 14th edition of Asia’s largest aero show, Aero India 2023, in Bengaluru.

The event will feature multiple variants of indigenous air platforms such as the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA)-Tejas, HTT-40, Dornier Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), Light Combat Helicopter (LCH), and Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH),” according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Previously, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) handed over the advanced light helicopter mark-3 (ALH-Mk3) to the Mauritius Police Force on Friday, according to Le Metinal.

According to Le Metinal, HAL Director-Operations EP Jayadeva stated at the event that this order is in line with the Union government’s vision to increase defence exports to friendly foreign countries.

The transfer of an export helicopter has strengthened bilateral ties even further. He added that the ALH Mk III helicopter will meet the MPF’s operational requirements.

According to Anil Kumar Dip, Commissioner of Mauritius Police, adding a new helicopter to the MPF’s fleet would improve the country’s police force’s aerial capabilities. The helicopter will make a significant contribution to ensuring territorial integrity and will improve the speed and effectiveness of police intervention during critical incidents and disasters.

HAL helicopter complex According to CEO S Anbuvelan, India and Mauritius have a strong business relationship dating back three decades, with a HAL-manufactured helicopter already in operation in Mauritius, according to Le Metinal.

“HAL would provide all technical, logistical, and maintenance support for the ALH helicopter in Mauritius,” the PSU stated in a statement.

Meanwhile, this five-day event in India will highlight indigenous equipment and technologies while also forging partnerships with foreign companies.

The theme of Aero India 2023 is ‘The Runway to a Billion Opportunities,’ according to the PMO.

The ‘CEOs Round Table’, under the chairmanship of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, will be held on February 13 on the theme ‘Sky is not the limit: opportunities beyond boundaries’.

The event will also assist in integrating domestic MSMEs and start-ups into the global supply chain and attracting foreign investments, including partnerships for co-development and co-production.

Over 80 countries will take part in Aero India 2023. Aero India 2023 is expected to bring together ministers from around 30 countries and 65 CEOs from global and Indian OEMs.

Aero India 2023 will feature over 800 Defence companies, including approximately 100 foreign and 700 Indian firms.
