Upsurge of covid cases around the world, has forced airlines to reschedule and hold off some of their flights.
Indigo, one of the country’s largest airline companies, has declared the withdrawal of 20% of its scheduled flights. Indigo is also presenting free changes for all new and existing bookings made up to January 31 for flights up to March 31.
“Owing to the increasing number of Omicron infections, large numbers of Indigo customers are changing their plans. In response to customer needs, Indigo is waiving change fees and is offering free changes for all new and existing bookings made up to January 31, for flights up to March 31”. said Indigo. Adding to this, they stated “We anticipate that around 20 percent of our current scheduled operations will be withdrawn from service”.
As per the reports from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, domestic airline passenger numbers have also witnessed drop off since the past few weeks due to rising cases.
