Nagpur: Just a day after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray’s remark on loudspeakers in Maharashtra, state cabinet minister Aaditya Thackeray lashed out at his uncle saying instead of removing loudspeakers, one should use the same to speak about rising fuel prices.
Junior Thackeray while addressing the media said that instead of removing loudspeakers, one should use the same to speak about rising inflation, CNG, petrol and diesel prices. He added that people should talk about what happened in the last two to three years without going back 60 years.
The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena supremo Raj Thackeray on Monday threatened that the state government should shut the loudspeakers in mosques by May 3. State deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, while addressing the reporters said, “Raj Thackeray must not be given so much importance. When the right time comes, I will surely answer it. I have answers for every question.”
Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam on the other hand said that if the loud speaker from any of the mosques in Mumbai is removed, it will be a matter of great shame. The MNS chief in an address on Monday said, “Loudspeakers in mosques should be shut till May 3rd otherwise, we will play Hanuman Chalisa with speakers. This is a social issue, not a religious one. I want to tell the state government, we will not go back on this subject, do whatever you want to do.”
Thackeray further urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to implement Uniform Civil Code in the country. The three-tiered government (Maha Vikas Aghadi) have strongly opposed the MNS chief’s demand which triggered the Azaan row in Karnataka as well.
