Maharashtra: MLA Bhaskar Jadhav terms scuffle between Shiv Sena factions at BMC “misuse of power” by CM Shinde

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MLA Bhaskar Jadhav condemned the scuffle between the two Shiv Sena factions on Thursday, calling it a “misuse of power” by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

On Wednesday, a scuffle erupted between Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena units at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters in Mumbai.

Reacting to the scuffle, Uddhav Thackeray’s faction MLA Bhaskar Jadhav said, “This is very unfortunate and condemnable as this office belonged to Shiv Sena for years. The manner in which MP Rahul Shewale was accompanied by former Thane Mayor Naresh Mhaske, who was involved in the scuffle but has no connection to the BMC, was a misuse of power by CM Shinde.”

He further said that CM Shinde is not a “hardworking person”.

“I know Shinde well; he is not a hard worker and has never worked on the ground. “Because the term of the BMC has expired, all of the corporaters here are ex-corporaters,” Jadhav added.

Deepak Kesarkar, a Maharashtra Minister and Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena leader, responded to the incident on Wednesday, saying that the Uddhav Thackeray faction must accept that they have “lost” the majority.

“I feel peace should be restored and they (Uddhav Thackeray faction) should realise that they have lost the majority. “They were even in fifth place in Gram Panchayat elections,” he said.

Nagpur’s winter session began on Monday. The assembly session is being held in Nagpur after two years. The winter session took place in Nagpur in 2019. Furthermore, the session could not be held in Nagpur for two years due to the COVID pandemic.
