Nagpur: The Allahabad High court on Thursday granted bail to Ayodhya man who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and has been in jail since January 2019 after 350kg of ganja was reportedly found in his possession.
The Lucknow bench of the high court granted bail to Kaleem, a resident of Ayodhya, who was under the provisions of the NDPS act in January 2019 stating that he has a fit case for bail according to the larger mandate of Article 21 of the constitution which deals with Fundamental Right to life and personal liberty.
While filing the bail plea before the high court, Kaleem had pleaded that recovery was planted due to some undisclosed motives and he was innocent. The accused promised that if released on bail, he will not misuse the liberty of bail. The NCB counsel argued that if the accused is released on bail, he would likely get involved in similar kinds of activities.
