Nagpur: Maharashtra Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray to chair a meeting with the Covid-19 task force team today at 3pm to review the restrictions in the state. The chief minister will likely discuss easing of restrictions in the state.
State health minister Rajesh Tope on Sunday claimed that a decision of easing out the restrictions will be taken by the chief minister after Diwali. Tope said, “After Diwali, on the basis of Covid-19 positive cases in the state, CM Uddhav Thackeray along with the health department and the task force will take the decision to provide more relaxation in Covid-19 restrictions.”
For the first time ever since the pandemic began, Mumbai recorded zero Covid-19 deaths on Sunday. “Mumbai recorded zero Covid-19 deaths after March 26, 2020. This is great news for all of us in Mumbai. I salute MCGM (Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai) for their spectacular performance,” Brihanmumbai Corporation commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal said.
Maharashtra environment minister Aaditya Thackeray also took to twitter and hailed the ‘good news.’
Maharashtra on Sunday reported 1,715 new COVID-19 cases. As per the state health bulletin, the total active cases in the state stand at 28,631.
