Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde called a special meeting of all Maharashtra MPs on Monday at the Sahyadri guest house in Mumbai to discuss the Union Budget. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Navneet Rana MP, Dhananjay Mahadik BJP MP, Imtiaz Jaleel MP MIM, Narayan Rane MP BJP, Poonam Mahajan MP BJP, and Amol Kole MP NCP. Meanwhile, Sena MPs from the Uddhav Thackeray faction, as well as those from the Congress, boycotted the Union Budget debate, which CM Eknath Shinde had requested.

The meeting’s discussions focused on the types of development that are needed more in Maharashtra, the types of development projects that must be implemented, and the types of schemes that are currently lacking. The MPs offered suggestions and opinions on a variety of issues, ranging from the construction of a flyover bridge or a dam on a river to the establishment of a medical college or other institutions.

“The Uddhav Thackeray group and Congress MPs did not come to the meeting because they are not concerned about the state,” BJP MP Dhananjaya Mahadik explained. At the meeting, all MPs were allowed to raise issues concerning their respective constituencies, according to Mahadik.

NCP MP Amol Kolhe attended the meeting despite being a member of the Opposition MVA. “I opposed my party’s decision and attended the meeting to present my views on the Budget for my region,” he explained. During the meeting, 64 state development issues were discussed.
