Nikki Yadav murder case: Accused Sahil Gehlot claims that the initial intention was to portray the murder as a car accident

Nikki Yadav’s live-in partner Sahil Gehlot claimed during interrogation that his initial plan was to show the murder as a road accident, Delhi Police sources said on Monday. Sahil went on to say that he’d decided to push Nikki out of the car. However, the plan could not be carried out, and he killed Nikki at Nigambodh Ghat, according to police sources.

Sahil’s police remand expires today. He is the main suspect in the murder of Nikki Yadav. Five of the accused were granted police remand for two days by a Dwarka court in Delhi on Friday. Delhi Police earlier told that the Crime Branch had arrested five persons, including Sahil’s father Virendra in connection with the case on charges of helping his son in the “conspiracy”. Crime Branch detained Sahil’s father, Ashish, Naveen, Amar, and Lokesh. According to police sources, Sahil’s father Virender showed no remorse or hesitation during the interrogation.

Birender, Sahil’s father, is already facing a criminal investigation and a murder charge. According to police sources, the father was aware of everything that occurred prior to Nikki Yadav’s murder and supported Sahil. According to the sources, Virendra apparently told the police that they needed to get Nikki out of the way any way they could. Naveen, the prime accused’s cousin, is a Delhi Police Constable who assisted Sahil in hatching the plot.

Sections 120 B (Criminal Conspiracy), 201 (Causing Disappearance of Evidence of Offence), 202 (knowing or having reason to believe that an offence has been committed), and 212 (harbouring or concealing offender) of the Indian Penal Code have been applied to the five people (IPC). According to police sources, Sahil told Naveen about Nikki’s death first. After killing Nikki, Sahil went straight to his dhaba. All of the accused were involved in putting the body in the refrigerator in his family’s dhaba in Mitraon village and planning its whereabouts after marriage. Sahil allegedly strangled Nikki to death after she learned of his impending marriage to another woman.
