No relief to Aryan Khan and others; bail plea rejected

Nagpur: Bail plea of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha’s bail plea was rejected by a special court in Mumbai.

Khan has been in Mumbai’s Arthur road jail since October 8. NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede, who has been heading the investigation, has refused to comment on the bail pleas of Aryan Khan and others. Mumbai’s NDPS court has postponed some of the bail hearings of the other accused for tomorrow and bail plea of the cruise rave party organsiers will be heard on Friday.

A worry mounts up for Khan as courts are all set to go on Diwali vacation in the first week of November. Incase Khan doesn’t get bail before the vacation, his stay in the jail will be prolonged further.

The three-tiered Maharashtra government comprising the Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress have accused the NCB of targeting Aryan Khan on orders from the central government.

Aryan Khan and seven others were arrested over the drugs-on-cruise case earlier this month. It is alleged that some number of drugs were recovered from the seven people who were there to attend a private party.

Earlier, Maharashtra chief minister and Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray alleged that the anti-drug agency was interested in catching the celebrities.

Khan has been in Aurthur road jail since October 8. He was reportedly counselled in jail in which he promised to ‘serve the nation’ and ‘promised to be a good citizen of the country.’ Khan was counselled by the NCB’s Zonal director Sameer Wankhede who has been leading the investigation.

According to reports, Khan said he would make everyone proud of him and avoid wrongdoing. He further added that he would help the poor and deprived.
