Nagpur: Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Urban Development minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday morning caused a jolt to the three-tiered Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
Shinde and 10 to 12 other MLAs are unreachable, fueling rumors of a rebellion within the party. The development comes after allegations of cross-voting by some Shiv Sena MLAs. As per sources, Shinde has moved to a resort with other Sena MLAs and is all set to hold a press conference at 12 pm.
Security outside the hotel has been beefed up and no one is being allowed to enter. Shinde claims that he has the support of 20 MLAs from Western Maharashtra, Marathawada, and Vidarbha.
Sena leader Sanjay Raut today said that the MLAs are in Surat. “Efforts are being made to topple the MVA government but BJP has to remember that Maharashtra is very different from Rajasthan or Madhya Pradesh,” he added.
