A four-year-old boy was mauled to death by a pack of street dogs at a housing society in Erukula Basti, Bagh Amberpet, Hyderabad, in a horrifying incident.
Pradeep, the deceased minor, had accompanied his father to his workplace when the incident occurred. Pradeep’s father Gangadhar works as a security guard. On Sunday, he brought his son to work, and while he was walking outside, a pack of stray dogs attacked him, according to sources, who added that CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced.
The boy is seen walking around playfully in CCTV footage when street dogs attack him. Six stray dogs bit the child until he collapsed to the ground, unable to stand. By the time help arrived, the boy was unconscious and bled profusely. Locals rushed to Pradeep’s aid and rushed him to a hospital, according to sources, who added that he was declared dead by doctors upon arrival.
Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao condemned the incident and expressed his condolences to the boy’s family. “Despite the establishment of animal care centres to care for stray dogs in a humane manner, such incidents occur and are very unfortunate. “We will do everything possible to prevent such incidents from happening again,” he said.
