Nagpur: Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari on Friday said that maximum projects in India are delayed because of the system in the country.
While addressing an event, Gadkari said, “I do not want to make any type of allegations against anybody but the maximum projects are delayed because of the system. In the government system, not taking decisions and making delays for the decision was a big problem.”
The union minister added that there is so much delay in making decisions everywhere which eventually leads to an increase in the escalation cost of certain projects. He also said that construction is one of the major sectors for generating employment in India and contributes the most to the GDP after the agricultural sector.
“The Prime Minister has appointed a committee under my chairmanship…We always try to resolve the issue related to infrastructure projects of the country,” Gadkari said, applauding the Prime minister Narendra Modi.
