Three held for bomb explosion in Prayagraj, amidst polling day

Nagpur: Amid elections, Police on Wednesday detained three reprobates, who were in connection with the Kareli bomb explosion case, which occurred on February 27. The three were imprisoned near Karelabagh Bakshi Bridge Road.

Polling station was just few meters away, where the bomb explosion took place. As per the sources, polling for the assembly election was underway in Prayagraj district. The purpose of the crooks was to spread terror amid elections by hurling bombs.

Three young boys detained by the police were Hasan, Aasif alias Inne and Munna alias Moinuddin are residents of Gaus Nagar and Mastan market (Kareli). Cops seized one pistol of 0.315 bore along with one live cartridge. Police also confiscated one crude bomb from all the three chaps.

SSP Ajay Kumar said, “The police have been looking for six persons, including the main conspirator, who had allegedly given two crude bombs to the three miscreants to create panic on the polling day in the district. The exact motive behind bomb hurling will be known only after the arrest of the main conspirator.”

Adding to this, SSP said, “Relevant sections 302, 120 B, 34 of IPC, 07 criminal act and 4/5 explosive act have been slapped on the three accused against whom action under Gangster and National Security Act might also be taken.”
