Nagpur: The Maharashtra cabinet on Thursday decided to hold the winter session of the state legislature in Mumbai instead of Nagpur for the second consecutive term. The session is all set to commence from December 22.
According to sources, the government said the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the state legislature will be held on November 29 and a decision on the duration of the session and business to be undertaken will be taken. Few reports claim that the session is likely to be held between December 22 to 28.
The winter session was due to start from December 7 in Nagpur but was deferred due to a code of conduct which was imposed due to the upcoming MLC elections. As per reports, this decision was taken due to chief minister Uddhav Thackeray’s undergoing surgery and is recovering from it. It is mandatory for the government to hold any of the three sessions in the second capital of the state which is Nagpur.
